Hello! Welcome to Soup Eater Magazine.
Believe me, I know this is not a magazine. I've been talking about making the Soup Eater Magazine for years now! I just haven't had the time to sit down and give this project the dedication it deserves. So, for now you'll have to settle for a slightly different format.
This format will include builds, photos, old stories and new, along with life updates and other news. Follow along for an inside look into the life of a soup eater!
To prove that I'm a little busy at the moment, this is the current state of Margot. I work on her every day but progress is slow! I hope it ramps up soon after I finish getting some of the less fun projects completed.
I've been working on cleaning up the metal on the roof bars and on the surrounding metal above the gutters. Everything above the gutters will be painted so that when I sheet the roof, no rust will be able to form in between the panels and the flat tubing.
I have the choice to sheet the roof with any thickness of aluminum. I'm thinking I'll go with .064 for the most of it, with a chunk of .080 for the front section since that'll be the panel taking most of the abuse.
I was able to weld in supports for hammock hooks in the perfect spot in the hightop. I love sleeping in hammocks and now I'll be able to stretch one out from front to back and use that as an upper bunk if there's not enough room for me in the bed with my wife and two dogs!
Thank you so much for reading my first ever blog post. Stay tuned for Margot's build updates! There will also be some posts about my wife's hand built Toyota camper named Blanche coming soon. We're about to install a freshly rebuilt 22re!
